Caricature Artists – Frequently asked questions
We often get quite a few questions about how caricature artists work and what happens on the night, hopefully this page will provide you with answers to at least some of your questions:
Does a caricature artist require a place to setup or can he mingle with my guests or go table to table?
It's up to you, all our artists can setup in an area or they can roam around, whatever best suits your requirements!
How long does it take to sketch each guest?
Between 5-10mins depending on the artist, the type of event and the subject.
Can i have a logo or peice of text on all the paper prior to the day?
Yes, most artists for a small fee can arrange logos, text or other such items to be printed to the paper prior to the event.
Can more than one subject be drawn at a time?
It varies a little from artist to artists, all will draw up to couples, but most prefer not to do any more than couples at squeezing more into 1 page reduces the detail and take an awful lot of time.
If i send a picture in, can i have a one off drawing done?
Yes, most of our artists are more than happy to do one off commissions, please see our page on gift caricatures or contact us with the details so we can provide a quote.
How much is a caricature artist?
Costs vary due to several factors, each artists vary, it can vary depending on the date and times you require, travel may sometimes be a factor. We do provide a guide price for each artist on the site, these can vary a little but will give you a good idea as to costs.
How many hours can i book an artist for?
Most artists work 2 or 3 hours at an average events. It is possible to book then for longer periods of time, or even on a day rate depending on the artist and the type of event, please contacts us with your requirements. Please bear in mind, drawing for extended periods is very tiring so artists do require breaks during longer stints.
Can i book an artist at short notice?
Subject to avaialbility yes, we are usually able to cover short notice bookings, however we may not be able to offer you an artists in your imediate area and as such some additional travel costs maybe due to allow and artists to travel to you from another area. We would always attempt to minimize any travel.
